Ingredients

  • 10 – 12 slices of turkey bacon
  • Ground black pepper
  • Cookie sheet
  • Olive oil

Equipment

  • Sprayer
  • Basting brush

Instructions

If you don’t like to stand in the heat and fry your bacon I am going to tell you the method for cooking in the oven as well.

Even if you are comfortable with frying on a pa I love to do it in the oven. Because once you mastered the technique it will be always the same and much easier than cleaning a greasy pan.

Cooking Bacon on Oven

  1. Start with preheating your oven to 400° F.
  2. Now place the cooking rack into the oven and place the cookie sheet over it to avoid any mess.
  3. Take your turkey bacon in a seasoning tray and spread ground black pepper over them.
  4. Now using a sprayer or brush add some olive oil to get more crunch.
  5. Simply put all the slices in on the sheet but avoid overlapping. If you feel space is not enough do the baking in 2 steps.
  6. Bake for 10 minutes and then flip the slices. Using your sprayer again add a little olive oil.
  7. Bake another 5 to 10 minutes and watch your bacon for the desired crisp.

Cooking Bacon on Skillet

  1. Place the skillet on the stove at medium heat.
  2. Season turkey bacon with black pepper.
  3. Now put as many slices your skillet can hold and using a brush add olive oil on the top.
  4. Let them fry for 7 to 8 minutes then flip on the other side.
  5. Again add some olive oil and wait for your turkey bacon to get crispy.
  6. Put them on a paper towel to drain extra oil.

Recipe Notes

  • Adding black pepper is up to you. I like to add it because it gives a kick to the flavor of bacon.
  • You can cook your bacon without any oil. But from the experiment, we learned that if you add a little oil that makes the bacon more crips. So you can go for either olive oil or avocado oil choice is yours.

Conclusion

Now you know how to cook turkey bacon on both over and skillet. It’s time for you to give it a try. If you come up with good preparation turkey bacon becomes way better than pork bacon.
