SCLA has been committed to enhancing collegiate life since 1944, spanning 75 years of experience in educational advocacy. In order to qualify for membership into this prestigious organization. Members must be enrolled full-time at an accredited four year college or university with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Out of 4.0 scale from their high school institution. Those accepted are then offered opportunities such as paid internships with various employers across the country. Regional conferences where they can meet likeminded people; and social events designed to help them create.

As a student at University of Phoenix Online, I belong to Phi Theta Kappa which is an international honors organization open only to community college students who have completed at least 12 semester hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Phi Theta Kappa has given me several opportunities for leadership positions and professional development through conferences and workshops such as our recent International Leadership Conference hosted by Hennepin Technical College where I was.
