Professor Francis Thackeray of Witwatersrand University in Johannesburg is eager to exhume the bones for research purposes.

His belief is to avoid the curse by exposing the bones. Then, it would undergo non-destructive, high-resolution laser surface scanning to offer forensic analysis.

If this suggestion is implemented, we may get to know the effectiveness of the curse. Time will only tell!
